In February we had our monthly Third Thursday networking event, with over 60 people attending during the night there was a great buzz in the air. We had the added bonus of whiskey tasting thanks to Teeling Whiskey.

“Last night I attended my first “IN” social event. I walked into a room full of strangers and was instantly greeted with friendly faces smiling back at me. I was introduced to some very influential people and also people in a similar situation to myself  – trying to make it in NewYork City. Upon leaving the event that room full of strangers now seemed like a room full of friends. I look forward to meeting everyone again and seeing what doors “IN” can open for me” Claire

IN-NYC and Irish Central hosted an “Immigration Night” at the Irish Consulate of NYC on February 11. It was a huge success, with over 50 people attending and an expert session run by Lorcan Shannon from Lorcan Shannon and Associates.

IN-NYC hosts numerous speaker events. Participants in previous events have included leading global businessman and philanthropist Denis O’Brien, New York Times reporter and renowned author Graham Bowley, former Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin, Chairman of The American Ireland Fund Loretta Brennan Glucksman, former President of Ireland Mary Robinson, former Taoiseach John Bruton, former Irish Commissioner to the EU Peter Sutherland and rugby sporting legend Brian O’Driscoll.

IN-NYC hosts no shortage of sporting events throughout the year. Our annual golf outing in September is a great way for members to get together and enjoy a round of golf after partaking in the customary shot of whisky at the 1st tee! In previous years this event has been hosted at locations such as the Orange Hills Country Club in Connecticut and the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in New Jersey. IN-NYC also partner with their sister Irish Network organizations in nearby cities for overnight golf excursions.  Recently IN-NYC has also formed its very own GAA team, the Manhattan Gaels, to participate in the New York GAA Championship. The group also arranges fun venues for members to meet, watch and cheer on Ireland in international football and rugby matches throughout the sporting year.
